Adam Healey is a serial Internet entrepreneur, launching his first business, Samba Digital Media, in 1998 at the age of 23. Samba was an e-services firm that helped large companies throughout Europe develop and execute their e-commerce strategies. Adam grew this business to 50 employees and millions in revenue, working with leading consumer and professional services brands around the world, including Volkswagen, Deloitte, Johnie Walker, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Budweiser Budvar, ING Bank, and many more.
After taking a year off to live and scuba dive in southeast Thailand in 2002, Adam returned to his alma mater at the University of Virginia in 2003 to attend Darden's Graduate School of Business. In 2006, he launched his second Internet startup, hotelicopter, a hotel search engine, where he served as the co-founder & CEO until selling the Company in 2011 to Roomkey, owned by the six largest hotel chains in the world.
In 2012 Adam launched Borrowed & Blue, an online marketplace to connect couples with wedding vendors, and built the business up to serve over 70,000 wedding vendors and millions of online visitors each year, before selling the company to Zola in 2017.
Adam has raised over $25 million in venture capital and launched businesses on three continents. He received his MBA from the Darden School of Business and his BS from the McIntire School of Commerce, both at the University of Virginia. He has served as an adjunct professor in Entrepreneurship at the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and the University of Colorado Boulder's Leeds Graduate Business School. He enjoys hiking, skiing, kiteboarding, basketball, reading, live music, and playing guitar.
